Bio of a humble chemistry teacher
It all started as a humble chemistry teacher in a boys school. Yes, a humble chemistry teacher. Even though I loved teaching, my heart was with music in all its forms, particularly dance music. I used to spend all my free time practising classical music on the piano, when not marking students' work. Even though I had no formal music qualifications I taught myself to read and write music. Eventually I had to leave teaching in order to concentrate more on music. Having left teaching I managed to get a job with a local council. This gave me more time in the evenings and mornings to produce music as their was no marking or lesson preparation to do. I asked my new friends at the council to listen to some of my tracks, although they were not perfect I was encouraged to continue my music dreams.
This finally resulted in my first release with G-Mafia Records called 'Burnin' Down The House'. This was followed by ‘Walk On’. Again with G-Mafia Records. My aim in music production has always been for the listener to enjoy and want to dance to a track, want to listen to it again and again and if possible get lost in the music and the moment. I believe that music should be accessible to everyone at all levels and that it also belongs to the community. Local grass roots events encourage people of all ages to take part and perhaps start their own musical journeys. Exposed to music from different cultures, music from different genres, a persons musical knowledge and enjoyment are heightened.
I believe in the psychology of music, that it effects and bends our emotions, is cathartic and beneficial. Particularly in Music Therapy of which I am a great fan and advocate. I encourage everyone to take up some form of music making even if its just singing to your favourite track or banging a tambourine to it. We all can take part in one of life's joys (as well as food ha ha). You never know, you might just like it! Sending Good Vybz and Warm Positivity to all. Groovypsycho
